There’s nothing quite like summer to enjoy time outdoors and have fun with your children.
After all, they have a lot of energy to burn and there are many different outdoor activities for them to enjoy.
Today we’re sharing a list of some of the best summer outdoor fun activities for children so that you can help them have a summer full of joy and wonder!
1. Arts & Crafts with Seashells
If you live near the beach or if you plan on going to the beach during the summer, then make sure you take some time to collect seashells. This is fun in itself, but it’s also amazing what you can do with them in the arts and crafts department. You can paint them, string them, make jewelry, etc. You just need to be creative!
2. Make a Slip ‘n Slide
Slip ‘n Slide’s are a summer classic and the great thing about them is that you can make them right at home. You can finally put that plastic tarp or sheeting you have in your garage to good use. Or consider buying one, as they’re fairly inexpensive!
If there’s not a natural slope in your backyard, try making one by digging and stacking sand. Or stacking sandbags to create a slope!
3. Go Hiking
As a parent, you need to stay active. One way you can engage your entire family in some physical activity is by going hiking.
There’s nothing quite like being out in nature and just enjoying how sublime it is.
Teach your kids to enjoy it by taking them hiking and talking to them about the wonderful things you find in nature.
4. Make a Chalkboard Wall
Chalkboard walls are amazing and if your children already enjoy drawing and painting, they will absolutely love having such a large space to work on.
All you need to do is choose a wall on the outside of the house, preferably in your backyard, and paint it with chalkboard paint.
Then, simply hand your children a bunch of colored chalk and see the murals they create under the sun.
5. Feed the Ducks at the Park or Vlei
You don’t always have time to head to the park and truly enjoy your time there with your children.
So, this summer, take the time to go to the park with your children, take some bread with you so you can stop by the duck pond and enjoy these lovely creatures. You can also feed pigeons if there are no ducks in your area! Take some lunch with you for a picnic, a Frisbee or bat and ball and make a day of it.
6. Enjoy These Fun Playmats
Playmats are not only fun indoors, they can also be fun outdoors.
Especially when they come in such fun and vibrant shapes like this donut, this pizza or this burger.
Your kids will love them and they’re perfect for when you have a picnic at the park or you simply want your children to be more comfortable while they’re playing in your backyard!
Find one you think your children might like and surprise them this summer.
